Over 1.15 million people have been affected by the prevailing drought in Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Moneragala, Ampara, Hambantota, Puttalam, Trincomalee, Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi districts.
Estimate indicates that 111,459 families, in the Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Hambantota, Puttalam, Mannar, Vavuniya, Moneragala and Ampara District are severely affected by the drought due to a shortage of water for their day to day activities.
We at Sethma Seth Lanka dedicated towards the wellbeing of humanity is answering to this need of the hour and decided to provide clean water to 71,000 families inhabiting the affected villages in Meegaswawa, Ambagaswewa & Madirigiriya areas by joining hands with the Sri Lanka Army 4th Service Corps.
Project is initiated on the 9th of August 2014 where the distribution of water would commence and would continue till the end of the drought.
Water Bowser (7000 liters) + Driver + Fuel with 4 round trips of distribution within 100km
= LKR 8,000.00 (Per a day per bowser)
